ONGAR FESTIVAL 30th APRIL 2023 – PLEASANCE CAR PARK

The Library Car Park in the centre of Ongar was buzzing all day with lots of amazing action, from the superb Gourmet food outlets, the Charity Tombola’s, the Ongar’s Got Talent competition, right through to the Bungee Trampolines, the Chingford Morris Men and the surprise visit from the Caspa Charity Runners on their way through to the Olympic Park from Southend!!

Forest Gold Radio opened the proceedings at 9.00 a.m. welcoming the 84 Pétanque players from the Eastern Counties to kick start the festival – all revelling in perfect sunshine and competing through the day for the JOHN SEAR Pétanque Triples Festival Challenge Trophy 2023. The standard of play was very high, producing many great matches in true festive spirit. Each team chose a dance- themed name, with some players even dressed to suit, and represented 13 different pétanque clubs, including 19 players from Ongar.
