A great day at Towers Pétanque Club today celebrating International Women’s Day with the IWD doubles competition. 12 teams fought it out in the group stages with 3 teams winning all 3 matches. A little rain at the start of the day did not prevent us all from getting started.
The Gold final was between Jean Wilmot & Carolyn Innocent (Towers, Ongar Mix) and Pauline Prior & Wendy Woolerton ( Ongar). The winners were Jean & Carolyn.
Silver final was between the two Epping teams with Marion Pretty, & Jill Murphy and Mandy Cruden & Jane Tembey. The winners were Marion and Jill. Thanks to everyone for coming along to support this event and to their supporters. An excellent day of Pétanque and great to see new potential.
