Tri-way Tournament, Rayne Swan, 27th August
The 3rd Annual Tri-Way competition took place at Rayne Swan Petanque Club where
over 60 players from Chiltern, Kent and Essex Leagues competed against each other, with the Chiltern team finishing
in first place for the 3rd year running with 23 wins overall. Kent took 2nd place with 13 wins and Essex had 12.
The Essex team was made up with players from Rayne Swan, Wethersfield, Gardens of Hanbury, Chequers, The Plough and Thorley petanque clubs.
Six rounds were played, made up of 8 games of triples or doubles. A poor final round saw Essex lose 4 games out of 5 to miss out on 2nd place by 1 point.

Viv Sams won 4 of her 6 games to be the star player of Group A.
While in Group B the honour was shared by Terry Whiting and Debbie Speed, both from Wethersfield, with 4 wins apiece.
It was a great days play in glorious sunshine and enjoyed by all.
Thank you to all who supported the event.
