McMullen Petanque League Results

With several postponements, the first three rounds of the League have produced some rather unexpected
results. We are still waiting for news of improvements to Towers temporary terrain at The Eagle to
make it less dusty and uneven. I have had Article 5 of the Rules quoted several times, but the rule
does not cover excessive amounts of dust thrown up. This proved unbearable to some of Vic 1 opponents
in Round One. Did someone mention Health and Safety?
Despite efforts to avoid postponements for football this year, the M.U. v Barcelona match caused some
drop-outs on the 27th May.
We now know that the “Queen Victoria” will be partially closed from 3rd June and totally closed on the
week of Round Seven. There is no need to cancel matches whilst the pub is still functioning but Round
Seven will have to be re-arranged for Theydon Boys v D.S.Brits. Hopefully all will be back to normal
for Round Eight. Any variations in this information will be circulated to affected teams.
