1st ECR Qualifier at Rayne Swan, 27th March

The first ECR Regional Qualifier took place at Rayne Swan on Sunday and three teams lead the table unbeaten.
Meat and Wheat with Dean Little, Keith Flack, Gus Garland and Matt Smith won 5 as did Chequers, Bill Eve, Frank Britt, John Perfect and Lloyd Herman who finished with two 13-12 wins. But top of the pile are Victorians 1, Phil McCrostie, Dave Tarling, Andy Wilmot and Francois Bourquin who had three 13-0 wins.
Vajazzled, Adam Buxton, Lee Dodge, Vince Schofield and Michelle Tarbun are in 4th place after losing their last game to the Booth boys (Elan).
Then come three teams with three wins. Charters (Peter Ward and co.) beat Onley in the last game to leave both on three along with Victorians 2.
Onley had three early wins but a narrow defeat to Chequers. Victorians 2 lost their first two games but recovered with three wins in the afternoon.
Campetanque should have beaten Chequers in the final game on the terrain. Holding a good lead, they lost out by a single point. They did have a good win over the Towers which left both teams with two wins overall. Angel had a close game with Onley and picked up 2 wins.
Below that, newcomers Bocking had just one win but played well enough to have won more.
Feering started with four defeats but dug deep to overcome Angel in the last game. Rayne Swan managed just one win over Thorley A who along with their B team struggled and prop up the table with one win for the club, but the B side did play three of the top four teams.
