Well we are the wandering ECR petanque players back from our exploits in Slovenia. It was a tremendous occasion for us and very much a steep learning curve but we have exceeded our and I think everybody's expectations in finishing 9th out of 31 countries taking part and I think it was our inexperience of playing at that level and in such a tournament that cost us on the 2nd day, but it certainly wasn't lack of effort. They were very long days and very long games, lots of interruptions during play etc etc. It has made me appreciate, even more, Nessie’s achievements of winning a bronze medal in the World Championships.

It was great to see the top players in action, the French were a different class and did a clean sweep, they really were very professional.
