EPA Club Knockout Competition 4th Round
On a fine, sunny day, Victorians played The Engine from Chiltern
in Round Four of the EPA Club KO competition on December 21st.
In previous fixtures Victorians
had "walkovers" in Rounds 2 and 3 so felt fairly confident with a home match, but in the first round
triple the open trio of Tupsy Leckraj, Andy Wilmot & Ritesh Lungut were fannied!
However, in the
mixed triples, Brenda Wilmot, Simon Doble and Seetahul Dinesh won 13-12 in a marathon which lasted 1
hour 50 minutes.
Engine won two of the doubles games and Victorians won the mixed doubles (13-2).
In the third round Wilmot, Leckraj and Lungut reversed their first-round loss, winning 13-0 and bringing
the total games to three-all. Unfortunately, in the deciding game of mixed triples, Victorians were
unable to repeat their first-round win, and lost 13-6.
It was a match of mixed fortunes against a very strong Engine team who could possibly be the final
competition winners.
Holders Colne Angel were unable to repeat their feat of last year and lost out to the strong Kent team
Plough & Chequers 4-1, the remaining games weren’t played.
Our regions only remaining representatives are from Towers PC who dominated their 4th round match
against Cottered PC from Chiltern, winning 7-0.
Good luck in round 5!
