The Eastern Region Singles took place on Sunday and with a good turnout Keith Flack from Tiptree regained the title to become champion for the 3rd time.
Flack did not start the competition well, losing 13-8 to Aris Savvides (The Plough, Enfield), but went on to win his next 4 games, including a 13-12 tussle with Dave Pearse (Feering Bell).
Trevor Blows from Onley, Stisted, had a good day, winning his first 4 games to storm into the final. His only loss was 13-11 to Clare Courtney (Rayne Swan).
The final was closely contested up to 8-7 in Flack’s favour when he squeezed in a three on a tight end to go 11 -7 up and finished the game off on the next end.
Dave Pearse & Dave Mark (Colne Angel) both reached the Plate final on points difference and Pearse went into an 8-2 lead. Mark worked his way back into the game and levelled the score at 10all. Then Pearse unfortunately shot his own ball out to leave the end open for Mark to point in for game, which he did for a 13-10 win.
