ECR 2nd Regional Qualifier, Rayne Swan, 28th June


The 2nd Regional Qualifier took place on Sunday and Rayne Swan 2 held their position at the top of the table after winning 4 of their 6 games and have a total of 10 wins. They didn’t have a good start losing to Colne Angel 13-10 and then struggling to a 13-11 win against Feering Sun. Another loss against Victorians 1 was followed by 3 wins including a long and hard fought 13-10 success against YPC.
Moving up from 4th to 2nd place are GBU on 9 who have played 1 game less. They showed their superiority with 5 wins out of 6 including three 13-0 wins.
Equal on 9 wins in 3rd place, moving down one from 2nd, are Le Tic Tac who won 4 of their 5 games, losing out 13-10 to Victorians 1. In fact Victorians 1 had a very successful day winning 5 out of 6 to move up two places into 4th.
In 5th place, dropping down from 3rd, are YPC with 4 wins out of 6 and the last of 4 teams on 9 wins overall.
There are two teams with 8 wins in 6th & 7th spots. Onley Boys, who won 4 of their 5 games including a superb 13-11 win over GBU to move them up from 8th and Towers 2 who also move up two places after winning 4 of their 5.
In 8th & 9th are Colne Angel & Chequers PC with 7 wins each. Colne had an excellent days play which saw them jump up 5 places from 12th, while Chequers dropped down from 5th.
Three teams on 6 wins occupy the last 3 qualifying places, En Passant, who had a good day with 4 wins to move them into 10th. BSC who had a poor day to drop from 7th to 11th and Victorians 2 who won 5 of their 6 games to move up 5 places to 12th.
There is still all to play for in the final round with teams just outside the top 12 pushing hard for the qualifying places, there can be a lot of movement over the next 6 or 7 games played, as has been shown with today’s results.
