EPA English Championships, Bury St.Edmunds 26-27/5/07
The EPA held their annual championships at Bury St Edmunds at the
weekend and Sofiane Lachani was triumphant in both the singles & doubles events.
On Saturday 59 players competed in the singles event and the Eastern Counties region's No.1, Sofiane,
became England's No.1, when he gave an excellent display of his shooting ability & went through the
day undefeated.
The second days play saw Lachani team up with Simon Bird, for the doubles competition.
Of the
62 teams entered Sofiane & Simon were the only unbeaten team and were crowned champions of England.
Dean Little & Keith Flack from Towers PC took 2nd place with a superb 5 wins.
To round of an excellent weekend for the Eastern Counties Region, in the mixed doubles Adam Buxton &
Clare Courtney from Rayne Swan PC were the top placed regional team, exceeding expectations with a
very creditable 6th place out of 46 teams.
Simon Bird & Julie Constable finished 17th & Sofiane &
Kim Lachani finished 21st.
