Bocking Easter Triples 25th April 2011
The Kent Boys won this year’s Easter Triples held at Bocking Petanque Club on Monday.
Geoff, Robert and Fred Booth and Russell Brewis won 7 games. Their only loss was a 13-1 defeat to the Three Amigos,
Clare Courtney, Wendy Ridehalgh and Tracey Austin, who finished in 3rd place after winning 5. Ridehalgh was in
tremendous form, carrying her team through with some superb shooting. Runners-up were Rayne Swan, Lorne and Beryl
Gibson and Ben Tofts, who won 6 games overall, only losing out to the winners and Feering Bell.
It was an excellent tournament, sponsored by Daniel Robinson and Sons, and played in glorious sunshine and great
spirit. The home side Bocking PC played very well throughout the day. Paul Adams and Malcolm Smith pointed well
and Dave Adams displayed some accurate shooting to claim 5 wins, and only lost out on third place by points difference.
Next came Feering Bell also with 5 and Onley from Stisted with 4. Feering Sun and Thorley finished 7th and 8th with
2 wins with newcomers Daniel Robinson (Lizzie Bollington, Sandie Dalkin and Paul Dines) bringing up the rear.
