The Daniel Robinson & Sons Braintree League Doubles eventually got under way on Sunday after torrential rain flooded the piste causing a delay.
In the morning group stages mother & son team Beryl & Lorne Gibson (Rayne Swan) finished top of their group winning all their games as did Frank Britt & Lloyd Herman (Chequers, Gt Tey) in the second group.
The semi finals, now being played in glorious sunshine, saw Britt & Lloyd defeat Tom Smith & Clare Courtney (Rayne Swan) convincingly 13-0. They went on to meet Vince Schofield (Rayne Swan) & Trevor Blows (Onley) in the final, who had beaten the Gibsons 13-5 in the other semi.
The final saw accurate pointing by Britt backed up with good shooting from Herman which gave them a 13-2 win over Schofield & Blows despite some close ends.
The Plate final was contested between father & son team Dave & Jack Pearse (Feering Bell) and Tracey Austin & Derek Roughton (Onley, Stisted). The every improving Pearses took the game 13-9 condeming Austin to her second final defeat in 2 weeks.
