Towers Petanque Club at South Weald held an evening tournament on Saturday 10th May and a good turnout saw 5 rounds of games with the top four teams playing off for the prize money.
On the way to the final there was an eventful turn up for the books with the experienced pairing of Dean Little & Keith Flack being humbled 13 – 12 by Alison Sutherland & Sharon Brazier, which was greatly enjoyed by all those watching. The girls fully deserved their win & it shows that the top players can be beaten.
Although Little & Flack did get back on course and defeated John Cartwright & David Piper 13-0 to win the competition, with Adrian Emson & Myra Huntley beating Simon Doble & Alan Brazier 13-9 to take third spot.
