The Braintree League Doubles took place on Sunday at Rayne Swan.
After the mornings group stages the semi final of the main competition was contested by Adam Buxton & Lorne Gibson from Rayne Swan who played Dave Mark & Wendy Ridehalgh from Colne Angel. It turned out to be no contest as Buxton & Gibson sailed through to the final 13-0.
Rayne Cock players Tony Hird & Scott Wilsdon defeated Trevor Blows & Bernie Wade 13-9 in the 2nd semi final.
Hird & Wilsdon got off to a storming lead against Buxton & Gibson, leading 11-1 in what looked to be a one sided final. It all changed when Buxton finally started to get his shooting on target and they clawed their way back to 11 all, then rounded off their comeback with a 13-11 win.
The Plate competition was won by Beryl Gibson (Rayne Swan) & Vince Schofield (Colne Angel) who defeated Rayne Swan pair Colin Sams & Clare Courtney 13-6.
In the Consolage Rayne Cock 4, Mark Sainsbury & James Hardy did well to reach the final and finished on a high with a 13-8 win over Onley pair Chris Hunt & Nikki Blows.
