The Ashton & Thorogood memorial doubles took place on Sunday at Towers Petanque Club, South Weald and the event was won by Adrian Emson & Myra Huntley from Chiltern region.
The experienced Emson & Huntley went through the day losing only one game. Huntley's precise pointing, closely followed by Emson's accurate shooting was too much for most teams.
Local players Dean Little & Keith Flack also reached the final but were totally dominated by the Chiltern pair and lost with a convincing 13-2 scoreline.
Third place went to Simon Doble & Alan Brazier who defeated the Towers duo of Peter Way & Dave Piper 13-6.
