11th January - Round 5

Round 5 was the half way point of the BDPL Winter League and a nice bit of symmetry saw 1st v 2nd, 3rd v 4th & 5th v 6th

In the Feering Bell Paccard v Tey Sharpshooters match the Bell started well with a 13 – 3 win in the doubles. The subsequent singles were shared both seeing valiant comebacks that just came up short. John won for Tey 13 – 10, with Dave W coming back from 12 – 1 down and Dave P won for the Bell 13 – 9 after Paul fought back from 9 – 0 to 9 – 9.
The 2 – 1 loss was the Sharpshooters first of the season but they retained their top spot in the league with Bell Paccard halving their lead to 3 points.

The Tey Coche Dodgers v Feering Bell Marinelli match saw both teams coming off the back of 3 – 0 wins in the last round. In the doubles Keith and Frank successfully execute a double comeback for the Coche Dodgers after being 6 – 0 and 12 - 6 down to win 13 – 12. Bell Marinelli have a excellent singles record this season, having lost only one game and this continued with Ian winning 13 – 5 against Frank and Chris 13 – 0 against Keith.
With the 2 – 1 win Bell Marinelli remained in 3rd place 7 points adrift of the lead, but within striking distance with a game in hand. The Coche Dodgers retained 4th place a further 2 points back.

In the Feering Bell Whitechapel v Tey Bandits match the Bandits had a good 13 – 2 win in the doubles. In the singles Karen played very well in a close game to win for the Bell 13 – 11 against Bill. Lloyd responded for Tey by winning the other singles 13 – 6 against Dave B. The 2 – 1 win for the Bandits sees them move up to 5 th with a game in hand, with Bell Whitechapel, one point adrift in 6th.

21st December - Round 4

Tey Sharpshooters Paul & John made it 4 out of 4 with a 2 - 1 win against Tey Bandits to retain top spot.
2nd place Bell Paccard lost ground. Ian & Carol won all 3 games against Dave W & P and moved into 3rd place with a game in hand.
Tey Coche Dodgers bounced back from their 3 - 0 defeat in the previous round inflicting a similar defeat against Bell Whitechapel to move up to 4th.

7th December - Round 3

Tey Sharpshooters & Feering Bell Paccard continued their good early form.
The Sharpshooters completed a convincing 3-0 win against Tey Coche Dodgers and picked up the bonus point to move into 1st place.
Feering Bell Paccard won 2 - 1 against Tey Bandits. The doubles was an even game, Tey were unfortunate to kill the coche giving Bell a four and this proved decisive. The singles were split, Bill winning for Tey & Dave P for the Bell. This put Bell Paccard one point behind the Sharpshooters in 2nd place.
Feering Bell Whitechapel met Feering Bell Marinelli and Dave B & Karen maintained their good double's form with an excellent 13 - 11 win against Ian & Chris, although Marinelli responed by taking both singles for a 2 - 1 win.

23rd November - Round 2

The Coche Dodgers bounced back from their Round 1 defeat with a 2 – 1 win against the Bandits. Frank & Keith winning the triples and Frank one of the singles, with Bill winning the other singles for the Bandits.

Dave Bird was in inspired form against Bell Paccard and ably supported by wife Karen took only 5 ends to win the doubles. Dave West & Pearse regrouped to win both the singles to take the match 2 – 1.

The Sharpshooters continued their winning form with another 2 – 1 win against Bell Marinelli. Paul kept up a 100% record with wins in the doubles and singles, with Ian gaining the point for the Bell in the other singles.

9th November - Round 1

Bell Paccard made a good start to the league with Dave W & P picking up a 6
to win the doubles and then winning both singles to secure the bonus point.

Floodlight failure at the Chequers saw the other 2 games postponed on the night.
The re-arranged Sharpshooters v Bell Whitechapel game saw Paul and John
win 2 -1. Dave B took the point in the singles for the Bell against John.
