In the KO cup quarter final, Chequers Black hosted an Onley Arms team at the top of their form. In less than an hour, and 23 ends, the Onley had secured a 3-0 win. In the triples, Trevor Blows moved the coche to make four at the first end. Nikki Blows had a good night at number one and with Tracey Austin shooting successfully for four, they wrapped up a 13-2 win over Simon Robinson, Paul Brown and Jack Perfect-Brown. In the singles, Trevor Blows opened with three. John Perfect took three at the second end but that was the only home success as Blows wrapped up a 13-3 win to ensure a semi-final place. In the doubles, the Brown father and son team took five to go 5-2 up but Daniel Blows and Austin pulled it back to 5-5. With Blows in excellent shooting form, the Onley led 10-7. At what proved the final end, Paul Brown moved the coche away from the Chequers boules. Blows shot out the only home boule in the head leaving Austin plenty of room to score the winning points.

Feering Bell 2 travelled to Bocking to play their B team this week on a glorious summer evening.
The triples was an extremely close contest lasting 1 ¼ hours, including 5 dead ends, and good play by all involved. The Bocking triple of David Mills, Pam & Dave Adams built a 7 – 3 lead, but the Bell triple of Dave’s Bird, West & Pearse scored an important point on the next end and found a good run of form by playing at the far end of the terrain to take a 10 – 7 lead. Bocking got back to 10 – 9 but the Bell scored the 3 they need over the next 2 ends to win 13 – 9.
The doubles was another long encounter, with 3 more dead ends. However from 7 – 5 up continual good pointing from Pam Adams supported with the shooting of Dave Adams saw them quash any further resistance of the Bell’s Bird & Pearse for a good 13 – 5 win.
The singles was a close encounter with some very good pointing. West built a healthy lead but Mills caught him and then took a 10 – 9 lead. West responded well with a 3 followed by a point on the next end for a 13 – 10 win and a 2 – 1 victory for the Bell at the end of a long & enjoyable evening.
